A Little Freebie For You!

I wanted to share a little freebie with you.  This was the cute pink tote I scored on my vacation.  

I decided to use it for my firsties' lunchboxes.  I tied this label to it because let's face it - it has to be cute - right?!?! You can download the sign here.

(I left space at the top to be able to punch holes to fit the ribbon through.)

Dollar Tree, Target Dollar Spot and Hobby Lobby - a Dangerous Combination!

Oh man!  I went shopping today and my, oh my - I got some goodies!

I go a little crazy for buckets and baskets and couldn't pass these up!  I'm using the binder clips for numbers on their little cubbies instead of sticky labels.

I loved the trays (I bought 3 of each color).  I think I'm going to use them for guided reading groups when we are using letters to scramble and unscramble sight words.  Using the trays will help them stay in place and hopefully they won't be all over my table.

I am a sucker for their little tins!  I use them for everything!  I can always use duck tape and post its!

Hobby Lobby

 

I found the little cups for 34 cents a piece!  I bought 2 of each color.  I'm super psyched about the poufs.  there were 3 in a package for $4.99.  (I put one together to show you)  I'm going to use that piece of fabric to make a little pillow for my reading chair.

I'm so excited about my finds!  What all have you bought?

2 Linky Parties at Once - What?!?!?!?! Monday Made It and Show Use Your Stuff!

Man, I'm back from vacation and on the ball!  I'm linking up twice today!

My first linky is with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics.  

I was laying in bed last night with my mind running 90 miles an hour about my classroom (come on, I KNOW I'm not the only one - I do this EVERY summer!) and for some odd reason thought about my plastic sack holder.  I know - random right?  I am redecorating my room and my apple sack holder does not match.  So this morning I got right to it.  I had some extra fabric left over and just pieced it together.  Here's what I came up with:

These are my new colors - blue, green, pink and yellow.

Here's how I made it:

Now I'm going to start with a little disclaimer - I'm not the best seamstress and I don't veer from just a straight curtain very often so don't look real close at my stitches!

Here's what I started with:

I sewed the two pieces together and then sewed a piece of ribbon on top of the blue:

 I hemmed all 4 sides but made a fatter hem on the ends to put a piece of ribbon through (because I have NO IDEA how to sew elastic!)

Then I sewed the sides together but I stopped before I got to the two fatter edges so I could still get the ribbon through. 

I also sewed a little piece of ribbon for the hanger on one end.

 Then I turned it inside out:

 I used a safety pin to thread the ribbon through on both ends:

 Then I tied the string.  You can tie it however tight you want it depending on how big you want the hole.

 And there you have it!  It really didn't take me very long and I'm very proud of myself!  I sent a picture to my mom who can sew anything you give her!  She was pretty impressed too! :)

I love this linky!  I keep a pile EVERY SINGLE SUMMER!  I was actually able to get back into my building today so I took all my stuff but I did snag a picture before I packed it up!

See!  I told you I have a TON!  If you follow me on Instagram then you know I snagged those big baskets on my vacation for $5.98 a piece.  We were getting out of the rain and went into a souvenir shop and just happened upon them.  They match my colors and I HAD to have them!

Walmart has had these little chairs for a while now and I finally decided I wanted them.  They look great in my reading center!

Everything else is just odds and ends - ribbon, paper, plastic dividers, pencil holders, buckets, clipboards, staple gun, dusters, umbrella and much, much more!

Back from Vacation and a Couple of Fab Giveaways

Well, we finally made it back from Florida.  Our vacation was AmAzInG!  We had so much fun.  Our drive home was extremely long but it's always great to be back home.  It rained on us every single day but we still made the best of it.  If you follow me on Instagram you've probably already seen most of these pictures but I'm going to share them again in case you don't.  

We stopped off in Monroe, Alabama at Duck Commander.  No sightings of Si or his iced tea but it was still pretty neat to see the warehouse where it is all filmed!

We stayed the first night in Pensacola and had just enough time to snag a couple of pics at the beach before dark.

We had to check out the Tampa Ray's Stadium for the Hubs.  He's trying to see how many different professional baseball fields he can attend.  (I think he's on number 10 or 11)

We stayed in Clearwater the first part of the week.  The beach was beautiful!

We stayed the last part of the week in Orlando.

Busch Gardens:

 It rained EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!

This is my oldest and I can't believe how beautifully it turned out. 

We also went to Aquatica but didn't get any pics because I didn't want to take my phone inside the park.

We had fun but I'm glad to be home and am ready to start getting my classroom ready for a new year!  I'm such a teacher nerd!  I'm just itching to get back in my room and start rearranging!

Florida Baby!

After 2 WHOLE days of driving, we are FiNaLlY here!  Yeah!  Yesterday, we stopped in Monroe, Alabama and went to Duck Commander:

Last night we made it to Pensacola, FL.  We had just enough time to walk down to look at the beach before dark:

Finally got here to the hotel today and are ready for a week of fun!  

Not sure how much blogging will be done because I plan on enjoying my family time!  I'll definitely post pics when we get back.  If you follow on instagram you will see more!
